The Department for International Development (DFID) leads the UK’s global efforts to end extreme poverty and deliver the Global Goals for Sustainability (SDGS). In Uganda, DFID is focusing on strengthening health and education systems, increasing choices, tackling violence against women and girls and providing humanitarian support to refugees.

DFID is also helping to unlock opportunities for the UK and other businesses to help Uganda create jobs for its people and become a greater trading partner of the UK in the future.

DFID funds the CIG programme with £20m over 5 years to provide high technical assistance to support planning and unlock investment in urban development, energy, and other infrastructure
